About Breton Mastiffs.

We have been registered with the Victorian Canine Association for 17 years. I am a trainee Conformation Judge licensed to Judge Group 6 at Open Show Level. I also am licensed to award CCs for the Mastiff and Pyrenean Mastiff at Championship Show Level. We are fortunate enough to reside in a beautiful part of semi rural Victoria a little over 50 kilo meters past the Melbourne.

We are less than 10 kilo meters from our canine association indoor/outdoor showing venue K.C.C. Park. This enables me to show our dogs easily even during summer when I can run them home immediately after being shown. With the freeway close by I can access the Melbourne Show venue within 45 minutes driving. I  also travel to the Canberra, Adelaide and Sydney Royal shows.

Our dogs have their own indoor kennel area which is a part of our house. This is the whelping, washing and grooming area as well. It has a non slip floor and insulation and heating and cooling. In here they spend much of their time with the TV going, the heater on in winter, and the overhead fans in summer. It is a particularly useful area for them for long periods of inclement weather. they rest well in here and do not bark at night. These are photographed below.

We also have smaller, concreted, non slip, out door day kennel yards. These we find great for puppies or bitches in season. They are small so only suitable for confinement for small durations of time. We don't often use these smaller yards but they are handy to have for the odd occasions. These are pictured below. Our Pyres are either outside in the big paddock runs or inside and asleep in their night yards.

Space assists the development of the mastiff breeds.... especially the Pyrenean mastiff. I have found so far that the larger the area the dog has to itself the better the development structurally. We are fortunate enough to have the acreage to accommodate our giants. Our outside exercise yards are 50 meters X 13 and the Pyres especially make full use of the space and the high ground in the form of a mound. All mastiff breeds like a higher vantage point. There is a photo of our pyres enjoying these yards below.

We are fortunate to have bred and owned some of Australia's most well known, and successful mastiffs. Mainly in "Mike" Ch Breton Belgae Tallisman, the only mastiff to date with FOUR Best Exhibit In Specialty Shows at Championship Level. Four Mastiff Of The Year Awards. As well as over 700 challenge points and his son "Bomber" Ch Breton Dael Larceny.  Mikey and Bomber are pictured with me below.

We have taken out these major shows with Breton Bred Mastiffs and Pyrenean Mastiffs.

We are exhibiting our Pyrenean Mastiffs some success. Our Italian dog "Murtois Quincy For Breton"  has attained his Australian Champion title seven months after arriving in Australia. We have just recently returned from the Sydney Royal Show  for a both CCs the Best Of Breed and Runner Up. and earlier on in 2006 the Canberra Royal Show for Best Of Breed and Runner Up and both CCs and Reserve CCs. And Our Breton Bred dog Co Owned by K Docherty was Best Of Breed and CC Dog at the Bathurst Royal Show. Mander also has achieved his Australian Champion status and has many Group and Show awards to his credit.

Thanks to Karen & Vicki Of Kazvick Kennels for campaigning this boy Gallo in NSW for us. He is now in America with Dr Pamela Grant and will hopefully be seen at a USA Specialty show.

At the present moment we are enjoying showing Australia's first ever Pyrenean Mastiffs in Victoria and in New South Wales with Mander, from our G litter being campaigned in NSW By Karen Docherty and Vicki Ross. We are enjoying our seeing the results of Australia's second litter of Pyrenean Mastiffs, and our dogs have been featured on Totaly Wild, Creature Features and are soon to be filmed by Talk To The Animals.
